Jester is designed with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it is used, and what stays on your device.
Information We Access
- Camera — to show a live preview, record rehearsal videos, and analyze facial expressions during sessions and calibration.
- Microphone — to record audio together with your rehearsal videos.
- On-device storage — to save rehearsal videos, session metadata, expression samples, app preferences, and optional calibration data.
How Your Data Is Used
All rehearsal videos, expression analysis, coaching insights, and session history are processed and stored locally on your device. Jester does not require an account, does not upload your recordings to our servers, and does not sell your personal data.
Expression analysis uses Apple's Vision framework on-device. Face landmarks are used in real time to estimate expression scores. We do not transmit face data to third parties for advertising or profiling.
Data Retention and Deletion
Your sessions remain on your device until you delete them inside the app or remove the app from your device. Deleting a session removes its associated video file and stored expression data from local storage.
Children's Privacy
Jester is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
Your Rights
Because data stays on your device, you control it directly. You may delete sessions at any time, reset calibration, or uninstall the app to remove all locally stored information.
